Hi everyone,
Here are four amazing teachers that I
have come across throughout the years and have found what they do very
inspirational.
Sheryl Parker & Susan Grace
Sewell-Charles
Unfortunately, these two amazing educators are
not on social media, but I still wanted to share their amazing work. Sheryl Parker & Susan Grace Sewell-Charles are a team of teachers who teach a
multi-grade (1-6) outdoor Adventure Class and were the recipients of the 2017
Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence Certificate of Achievement.
Parker and Sewell-Charles focus on child-centered and experiential based
learning with an emphasis on connections to the environment, global
citizenship, and local community in their Adventure Class. The course is
designed as a community-based system through which older students mentor their
younger classmates. This system allows students to learn at different paces in
different topics and reflects the group’s success. Parents are also directly
involved in the planning and delivery of the curriculum.
